After many years of watching politics and elections, one thing really stood out to me last night. When the President came on stage with his family to make his acceptance speech, I noticed something interesting. Sasha was standing next to her dad and was trying to get his attention. When President Obama noticed and leaned down to listen to her, she said something to him and I could only make out the last two words: “behind you”. It was then that the President turned around and waved to the people gathered behind the stage. Amazing! Instead of being caught up with herself, like so many young adults not accustomed to being on stage in front of such a large crowd, Sasha was thinking about the people behind her. A testament to her and her upbringing. Well played!
